Cost

All costs right now are an approximation.

Airfare: $500 - $550 round trip / person
Extra Baggage: $25 for the first check-on item and $40 for second

Lodging: $40 / day / person ($320 for 8 days)

Building materials: TBD

Supplies to bring down: TBD

Travel Insurance (MANDETORY): $4 / day (See more info)

February 12th is the deadlines for the airfare cost

Donations

If anyone is donating money to you for the trip we recommend that they make a check out to Emmanuel Assembly of God. That way they can take a tax deduction.

Ann Foss will be managing the funds for this trip. Please forward all monies to her.

Safety

There are a number of things that we can do to keep ourselves safe.

Travel Clinic & Vaccinations

You can visit your primary care physician for shots or visit a travel clinic.

Travel clinic in Farmington

Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington has a travel clinic. The costs are similar to the cost of the travel clinic in Auburn. For appointments call 779-2367.

Travel clinic in Auburn

Below is information for the WorkMed Travel Clinic at St Mary's in Auburn.

Travel clinic office visit:   Approx $125  (Time for doctor, nurse, and admin vaccine fees)

Patient pays the office visit fee and then for each additional shot.  

Recommended vaccines for Haiti: (Approx costs)

Hepatitis A  $28/shot  (2 shot series) 
Hepatitis B (only needed if doing medical work, which we're not) $59/shot  (3 shot series) 
TwinRix  (A & B combo)  $46/shot  (3 shot series)
Typhoid  Vi (injection)   $56 (good for 2 years) 
Typhoid Vivotif (oral)    ?? Researching via Medicine Shoppe - Patient would be given a prescription to fill at their local pharmacy (good for 5 years) 

Malaria prophylaxis for Haiti:

Recommended is chloroquine:  ~$30   (Taken 1 week before departure and then 1 x per week while there and 1x/week for 4 weeks once returns)

Some cannot tolerate chloroquine’s side effects so others maybe prescribed:
Doxycyline: ~$20  (Taken daily 1 week before departure, daily while there and daily for 4 weeks after return)

Malarone: ~$180 (Taken daily 2 days before departure, daily while there and daily for 1 week after return)

All United States recommended vaccines should be current:

MMR: $56
Tdap: $35

A prescription for Cipro is given and should be filled, but only used in the event the traveler contracts traveler’s diarrhea (also covers Cholera).  (A Z-Pack is given to anyone under 18 yrs of age)
